Envelopes were incredibly snappy despite being software generated. The worst point of the Omega 8 is the price - the expected retail price is $4995 when they ship in two months. Not since Studio Elec- tronics rack-mounted Prophets and Oberheims has this much analog sound been squeezed into a rack mount package. The Omega 8 features eight dual oscillator stereo multimbral voices. Each voice is comprised of two multi-waveform oscil- lators each with pulse width modulation and all waveforms available at once, a selectable Oberheim multi-mode or moog style filter, three envelope generators, two LFOs, and an arpegiattor. In addition to the Oberheim or moog style filters, a daughterboard can be fitted offering Roland or ARP filters as well. Only one filter can be utilized at a time though. It's a shame they did not include an audio
